For the love of PUMPKINS!

falldecor1

This is the time of year that is EVERYTHING pumpkins!  Pumpkin candy, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin pie, pumpkin patches and pumpkin decorating!  This is the month that all families trek out to the pumpkin patch (or grocery store) and pick out pumpkins to decorate or carve or cook – all sorts of things!  We bought our pumpkins a couple weeks ago and have worked on them a few minutes here and there.

Milo's spider pumpkin. He helped with eye placement and bending the legs. He also randomly painted it gold on some spots - he likes to paint. ;)

The other ones were just small pumpkins we picked out.  We also had an extra one so I put yellow polka dots on it and then sprinkled it with glitter.  We picked this one up because we loved the stem.  Cool, huh?  As far as IN the house, we have a couple other spots where the pumpkins have taken over…

Our mantle has a few cloth pumpkins and out buffet in our buffet in our breakfast area has this vintage framed seed pack and another mini.

It’s fun to see the house decked with all these gourds this time of year.  Makes me think back to some of the pumpkins we’ve had in the past:

In the fall of 2013 Milo started daycare for the first time (thank goodness he is no longer there…)  He was constantly sick and got very ill around Halloween.  We didn’t make it out to the pumpkin patch or even trick or treating.  We did manage to somehow grab pumpkins and decorate them – this is the only pic I have tho.  I’m so happy he isn’t sick like that anymore!

And then of course you see our decorating from this year at the beginning of the post.  Cady is so busy most weekends with retreats and school stuff that Matt and I just ended up taking Milo to a local patch close to here to pick a few pumpkins for 2014.

Do you love picking and decorating pumpkins as much as our family?  It’s a favorite activity for us and I look forward to it every year.
