ASSESSMENT OF LEARNERS
The following assessment activities will measure whether or not the learners are gaining the knowledge necessary to meet the courses goals and objectives.
The instructor will utilize the following checklist to track participant progress.
Goal 1: At the completion of the course, participants will be able to use Microsoft Teams for staff communications and teamwork.
Objective 1: Learners will be able to navigate to chat section of Teams, edit contact list, and initiate a chat session from their list of contacts.
Assessment for Goal 1, Objective 1: Learners must successfully 1. Navigate to the chats section of Teams. 2. Add the instructor of the workshop to their work contacts list. 3. Send the instructor an instant chat message that reads – “I can use Microsoft Teams Chat!”
Objective 2: Learners will be able to navigate to the appropriate channel in Teams and add a project update post.
Assessment for Goal 1, Objective 2: Learners must successfully: 1. Navigate to the Project Updates channel. 2. Add a project update from a pre-determined template.
Objective 3: Learners will be able to navigate to the appropriate channel in Teams and add personal messages, memes, and photos that tag their fellow staff members.
Assessment for Goal 1, Objective 3: Learners must successfully: 1. Navigate to the Recognition channel. 2. Tag a fellow classmate. 3. Add an encouraging post that includes a Teams meme or emoji.
This means of assessment was selected for the objectives in the first goal of this course because it allows for the participants to gain extra practice and also to receive direct and timely feedback from the instructor. The learners and the instructor will know immediately if the class is learning and becoming more comfortable with the application.
Goal 2: At the completion of the course, participants will understand the benefits of implementing Microsoft Teams in their department in the areas of project management, team recognition, and collaboration.
Objective: Learners will describe the benefits of using Microsoft Teams and how it can help their team with project management, team recognition, and collaboration.
The instructor will use the following PowerPoint to prompt this discussion.
Assessment for Goal 2 Objective: As part of an end of course exercise, each learner must share one way that they specifically will use Microsoft Teams in their work environment to improve areas of project management, team recognition, and collaboration.
For this objective, utilizing discussion as a way to assess the learner’s ability to describe the benefits of Microsoft Teams is effective because it helps the learners translate what they have learned from the classroom to their own work environment. It can also help the instructor assess who may need additional help and what the overall reaction to the course is.
